Quilter: Judy | Quilted wall hanging representing the COVID-19 pandemic. A phoenix rises from the bones and ashes while the fragmented border pieces represent the effect the virus is having on our society. As the bird rises, the piecing becomes more orderly, representing our emergence from the horrors of the virus until it encloses the top of the quilt in new found order and rebirth. The bottom border fabric looks like a soup of organic molecules representing the causes and effects of the virus. Both this border and the flames are littered with viral particles.
